Posts display locally in homepage, disappear when deployed to github pages. Although i can see list of posts when i go to "gsmnit.github.io/posts"

I am hosting on github pages and everything renders wonderfully except the list of posts on the home page even though they show up as expected when I run the site locally. I've tried the following with no luck:
set mainSections to set in hugo.yaml
