  • Let’s just keep it short and sweet. Let’s drop out mention of IRB documentation and research and just say:
  1. Need to know what sort of introduction you'd like, just give me a script (will keep the same black box load with logo thing for now)
    * “Welcome to the Virginia Philosophy Reality Lab’s Life-and-Death Moral Dilemmas app. This experience will allow you to explore variations of the Trolley Problem philosophical thought experiment.” (Then resume with the bit about hearing a tone before teleporting, etc.)
  2. Skip the introduction ability (long press hamburger/menu key)
    * Skip option sounds great!
  3. Will pull the IRB Pin Board and the IRB Computer Screen
    * Also sounds good.
  4. Will replace the computer screen with a "Pick your Moral Dilemma" (Give me whatever language you want here) and specifically what you want to call each option (Push a person and Push a switch)
    _* For the new menu screen, I think it would be great if we could isolate one option for the switch, one option for the push with skinny person, and one option for the push with a fat person. Here’s how I would phrase it.
  • Pick your Moral Dilemma
    • Trolley Switch
    • Trolley Push 1
    • Trolley Push 2
    • QUIT
    • As long as the skip training button works, just those three options and an option to quit will be good. If the skip button doesn’t work, then I’ll want to isolate the training as a separate option, and have the moral dilemmas start at “You’re on your own now”_
  1. When it's over what is the end - do we loop you back to the office, do you want to pull up the website, force kill the app, etc.
    * When a dilemma is over, I would like it to go to the same black conclusion screen where we ask users to answer the question, “Why did you choose to x?” But rather than recording, just tell them to think about it. Then we can loop back into the office. If the user is done, they can use the quit option. I’m picturing having students passing headsets off from one to the next, so jumping back to the office will be best.
  2. Will generate a new GitHub Project to document this and assuming there's no crazy requests here shouldn't take long mainly just have to update some events - generate a new branch and kill the data system (which is easy)
  • New GitHub Project sounds good.

Additional Comment: Can we replace the “SURVEY” button on the computer with a “VPRL” button that links to our website for more info?
