There seems to be 2 different API's that can be used for programs such as lightbulb. One is called "low-level color API" and the other is called "high-level color API".
I'm not sure but I think Lightbulb is using the high level color API. A closed source program called "Careueyes" allows the users to switch between 2 different API's. Search for the word "API" on this page to read more about it: https://care-eyes.com/release.html
I'm opening this issue to discuss and learn about the advantages and disadvantages of these API's and see if it's a good idea to add an option to Lightbulb that would allow switching between these 2 API's.
