Ideas for converting from osu!classic to osu!DIVA

I sketched a quick plan as to how we could handle converting an osu!classic beatmap into our osu!DIVA format

How to bake a pretty cake osu!DIVA beatmap conversion:

1. Take an osu!classic beatmap C
2. Generate an osu!mania 4K map (hereafter referred to as M)
3. Button positions = C start position...
   • Cascade = 1 button preferred, and
     • (diagram) ← Those offsets if multiple buttons
   • If combo change during cascade → change button
4. Button = M key (example diagram)
   • Chords:
     • 2 note = double if alone, shoulder hit if consecutive (yes I changed my mind)
     • 3/4 note = double shoulder hit
5. Slider = M slider
   • 1 held = Arcade's indefinite note hold bonus
   • More = Arcade sliders
6. osu!classic back-and-forth = 2 opposing sliders
   • Fast back&forth = successive shoulder hits
7. osu!classic spinners = hold both sliders (wow, originality!)

Note that here, I'm also treating combo and spinner data differently, which osu!mania cannot due to its limitations -- yet another proof that osu!DIVA is superior!
