are there payment platforms that cater to this sort of thing? or is it better to find specific devs already interested in the project and pay them as a sort of stipend for a certain amount of work?
what unit are we sponsoring? @iot-resister you mention per month but I wonder if it might be better to set up a bug/feature/issue/improvement bounty unless we were willing to pay someone as at least a part time worker.
we could have people sponsor issues or projects/tasks here on github
we could just do it informally on a spreadsheet or something. All of the planning and tracking tools are already here, and there exist both services like paypal and currencies like ethereum to facilitate a fast and low risk informal payment like for a gig.
