Hello all,
I was having issues with sounds not playing or playback of sounds being very low. I couldn't find the root of the problem until I remembered that I enabled the processing of all input and output streams in EasyEffects a couple weeks ago. I did this because EasyEffects does not always save selected preferences for certain apps (Firefox, maybe because tabs run in separated processes?) This resulted in Soundux playback being passed through the noise reduction filter and the noise reduction filter did its job. I added soundux and soundux-0.2.8 to the excluded applications list and everything is now working as intended.
I know that this was due to my own configuration of EasyEffects and not fully related to Soundux. But, I spent a lot of time troubleshooting this (lol) and I am hoping that by putting this here that someone else who is googling for a solution might stumble upon this and save some time. If project maintainers feel that this is not relevant or not wanted feel free to remove this post.
Thanks for all the work you all have put in on Soundux.
Thanks,
John
