Describe the bug
When i try to import a playlist to a new phone, which has an identical music library (including folder structure & names),
it results in most songs being absent on the new phone from that playlist.

In my case I have a 663 songs on my favourites. When I import it on the phone, there are 2 songs in it.

(It is literally the only thing I can't transfer to my new phone and it's driving me nuts)

How To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
You'll need 2 phones with an identical music library

  1. Export Playlist as file on first phone
  2. Import Playlist as file on second phone

Expected behavior
Have identical Playlists on both phones.

Device info:
Phone 1 (source)

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
  • Android version: Android 13 (One UI 6.0)
  • App version 6.1.0 Pro

Phone 2 (dest.)

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Android version: Android 14 (One UI 6.1)
  • App version 6.1.0 Pro

I have tried exporting it to a file and then Editing that file to remove internal db references in the comment strings above each entry. But that didn't help either.

Nevermind, I found the actual reason for this problem.

When saving a playlist to file and choosing google drive as destination, the playlist file is missing the .m3u extension.

When I add that to the file, the import works.

I recently discovered MusConvTool while searching for a way to consolidate my music libraries from various platforms. It exceeded my expectations in terms of ease of use and efficiency. Highly recommended for anyone in a similar situation.

This issue appeared for me on Google Pixel 6 with m3u files I've previously maintained and tested across multiple other mp3 players and devices. Never had any issues. I see the 2 previous issues on this which were a simple fix but in my case something else is happening.

Steps I've tried:

  • Delete & reimport incomplete playlists from the app
  • Clear the Android media database (media storage/media provider system app)
  • Tried changing the file extensions to .m3u8 in case decoded incorrectly.

...the last of which shouldn't have even been necessary as the error occurs on only a subset of my playlists, but I gave er a whirl anyway. Still no luck with the 2 having the error. One playlist loads only 1 song from the middle and the other about 5 songs. Both should load a playlist of about 30+ songs.
