PG 3.2.4: Upload New Episode doesn't work with Vivaldi browser #589
Comments
Could you try on Vivaldi using a wired connection as well? There shouldn't be any differences between 3.1 and 3.2 that would cause this, so I'd like if you could rule out any connection related issues first. |
I forgot to mention that this is occurring regularly on two different
computers, one running Linux Mint, one running Windows 11.
And, after several attempts on Vivaldi, if I use Firefox, it uploads just
fine.
The FTP feature (auto-indexing) has been working, so I at least have a
workaround, but not sure why things stopped working after the update to
3.2.4.
Is there a time-out feature on the script for the upload that maybe I'm
exceeding, but page just doesn't tell me that?
So, tried just now uploading two files, one relatively small, and the other
around 120MB, and had no issues either time. Very weird. I'll keep an eye
on it. Maybe it was something going on with my web server that I wasn't
aware of.

FYI: The problem seems to be hit and miss with the upload using Vivaldi. I still haven't been able to sort out why. |
Weirdly, now I'm seeing similar problems with Mozilla Firefox. Multiple attempts to upload a new episode (lt 50MB) stall and never occur. Tried a different browser and it uploaded with no issues. |

Podcast Generator Config
I just upgraded to 3.2.4 version of Podcast Generator. Previously, I was using version 3.1.2. Before the update, I was able to upload episodes just fine. After the update, whenever I try to upload a new episode using the Upload New Episode page in the Admin Panel, I complete the web form, and submit the form, but it just sits there and doesn't seem to do anything. I've waited for 30 minutes for an 11MB mp3 file to upload, using a 5G LTE hotspot connection. This only seems to occur with the Vivaldi browser (5.2.2623.36). I did try uploading with latest Firefox browser and had no issues. Vivaldi worked previously, so not sure what might have changed with the update. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I do have Block Trackers and Ads as my default privacy setting in Vivaldi. Thanks in advance.
