For some time, there have been rare reports of server owners suddenly losing Quests data. Whether that be saved quests or player data, these reports have been difficult or impossible to substantiate. There is no apparent pattern—it can allegedly occur during a version upgrade, while the server is restarting, or as a player is completing a quest. Using file-based YAML or remote MySQL does not appear to matter. There are no consistent signs or symptoms of the issue and the existence of this bug borders on rumor.
Although the Quests project provides no warranty, it is of interest to see this matter put to rest. If you, or someone you know, has experienced this issue, please comment below with as much detail as possible. Developers whom are able to demonstrably replicate a situation where this could occur may be eligible for monetary compensation.
