Is this project abandoned? There are no recent changes that have happened? Will there be support for plasma 6?

It seems so, because of a few reasons:

  1. The project hasn't any maintainers who using KDE Plasma.
  2. GTK materia-theme hasn't active development anymore, so no one GNOME user not interested in Materia Kvantum theme, as a theme for Qt.

The theme works on Plasma 6 AFAIK since Kvantum has Plasma 6 support so it's agnostic. I understand that materia-gtk also has not seen any development recently but in it's current state it's still useable for the limited theming of GTK+ aplications in KDE imho.

Always followed this project with great interest since it has consisent side-themes (GTK, VSCode, and others) and offcourse the superb integration with papirus

@SmartFinn Which project you'd recommend that blends in well with papirus?

It's hard to say, because I'm using the default Libadwaita on GNOME, and even didn't try to found something else.
