On recent builds of Chrome, the video has started to show a large amount of lag.

  1. Enable the video stats in settings
  2. Open cockpit

Expected:

  • gap time should be < .050 seconds

Witnessed:

  • gap time .200+

Workaround:
On OS/X systems we have clearly seen the problem go away when disabling the hardware video decoding feature in chrome://flags/

chrome___flags

Prior tracking ticket: https://github.com/OpenROV/Kanban-Task-Board/issues/287

If you run in to this issue, please let us know:

  1. OS version
  2. Chrome version
  3. If the Hardware-accelerated video decode setting is enabled (When there is a link to "disable" it, that means it is enabled)

If you want to help but are not seeing the issue, please add the same information but let us know it is working!
