[Backend] Creating New Customer - No message is sent to the customer #4120
Comments
Not 100% sure about it ... .. please try it with https://github.com/aschroder/Magento-SMTP-Pro-Email-Extension installed. (and adjust ports) |
OpenMage sends the message when I change the password, or when I test kiatng's PR. Please do a check yourself, I remain of the opinion that it is an issue related to logic. The Magento team has provided this feature, but they haven't tested it enough and users haven't used it yet to see if it works. |
Did you try with “Send Welcome Email” box checked? It’s not the most prominently displayed option. |
Go to Backend > Customers > Manage Customers. Click the [Add New Customer] button to create a new account.
Fill in the form as bellow
Click the [Save and Continue Edit]. Normally, the customer should receive an automatic message like when he creates the account in the Frontend. If the store is set to confirm a new account, then he should receive the activation link message.
ISSUE
OpenMage does not send any message to the customer if the account is created in the Backend. Neither the one related to the creation of the account nor the one related to its activation. I am using a DDEV test environment and Mailpit did not catch anything. I checked if the cron is running, if the are any scheduled crons created, and everything is working.
Any feedback is welcome.
