Launch error

Summary of issue
When I try to launch a game it freezzes on a white gray black screen for 10 minetes then launches with no sound i've tryed nes psp playstation 1 snes virtual boy nds satern gba gameboy gamecube game gear and mega drive games and none work. and doesen't save
(issue started when playing ballon fight)

Steps to reproduce

Games played fine then just randomly crashed with no log.
Ive tryed to update both mac and openemu remove and readd ballonfight and nothing worked.
All of a sudden just crashed.
Openemu and mac sound and up and not on mute.

Expected Behavior

Game launches fine with sound playing.

Observed Behavior

1. Black white gray screen.
2. 10 minets later launches properly.

OpenEmu Version: 2.0.9.1
macOS Version: 10.13.3

Since you say you updated macOS and OpenEmu, can you confirm the versions of each that you have? Because what is written in the post, macOS 10.13.3 is definitely not updated, and OpenEmu Version 2.0.9.1 is also not updated. The current OpenEmu version should be 2.4.1. If it is saying it can't communicate with the Helper App then that is usually a damaged file inside of the OpenEmu app itself and the best idea is to redownload a fresh copy of OpenEmu which will not break your Library or any other data, but will make sure that you are using the current version as well as a guaranteed stable copy.

Go to the main OpenEmu website and download the latest version from there and put it in your applications folder, and can you double check the macOS version from the Apple Menu>About this Mac and screenshot it. If it truly is 10.13.3 then you will need to run a special update package from Apple to get to 10.13.6.

Download from here and run what downloads. Make sure to backup your computer before running it, because with older versions of macOS and the combo updates there is a 20-30% chance of corrupted hard drive. https://support.apple.com/en-us/106398

I will make this easy to be sure the latest version of OpenEmu is installed. You need to copy and paste these commands into Terminal. Make sure you copy from curl to the final /Applications below.

curl -L -o ~/OpenEmu_2.4.1.zip https://github.com/OpenEmu/OpenEmu/releases/download/v2.4.1/OpenEmu_2.4.1.zip | unzip ~/OpenEmu_2.4.1.zip | mv /Applications/OpenEmu.app /Applications/OpenEmuOld.app | mv ~/OpenEmu.app /Applications

After these commands are performed it will put the updated version of OpenEmu on your system in the applications folder and just open it from the Applications folder.
