Average score for a level is higher than the high score? #69
Comments
Thanks. I'll check that. The average score is indeed calculated for all users including guests (which represent 2/3 of the visitors actually). That said the discrepancy is indeed strange. I'll keep you posted here. |
Thanks for checking into the score problem. Also, thanks for explaining the reasoning on the highscore display. Guess I should read the paper to understand how the game results feed into the overall sequencing scheme. :D |
Similarly... Doh. I pasted and apparently didn't get anything into my copy buffer. It was a puzzle in the ~980 range I think? My score was 106, average score was reported as 106, high score was reported as 101 (held by a Cyrillic-characterset name). |
Thanks for reporting this and apologies for the bug. We'll try to identify it and fix it ASAP. |
Just got a weird result for level 1187. When I completed it, it claimed that the high score was 126 (owned by vellagator) while the average score was 128, with 5 people having completed the level. Not sure how this could happen without a bug. Do high scores by anonymous users not end up on the high score list?
Also, as sort of a wishlist thing, it would be nice if one could see the high score and average score while working on the level, so that one would know what to strive to beat/attain. Par is nice, but it's disappointing to proudly complete a level way above par only to discover that I'm still nowhere near the high score.
