Trying to switch to fully static utils

Hello, I noticed that dwarfs utils aren't fully static and instead conty bundles its own ld-linux.so along with a 30 MiB libicudata lib.

There is this repo of fully static bins that I made a replacement utils_dwarfs.tar.gz for and that reduces the size of the utils down to 17 MiB (7.4 MiB compressed).

I did a quick test with the steam appimage and while it builds, conty doesn't work.

conty.sh: line 1: $'1\300[]AA]A^A_\303ATUS\350hN\366\377H\211\305H\227\350\226:\366\377H9\305\017\204\207': command not found

I'm not sure what's wrong.

edit: just in case I already edited conty-start and create-conty to not use ld-linux.so since it isn't there anymore.

Maybe something is wrong with bash, try to take bash from my utils, it's static too.

I now have a different issue:

it is not bwrap because I tested using your bwrap and putting back ld-linix.so and a few libs it needs, I will need to test one by one to see what is broken.

The issue here is that dwarfs-tools expects that you will run it with the --tool argument. You created symlinks (dwarfs, dwarfs3 ...) that point to it, but seems like it does not take this into account.

Ok, it does take symlinks into account, the problem is that it does not know about dwarfs3. You need to replace dwarfs"${fuse_version}" to dwarfs in conty-start.sh.

Thanks! I did make the relative symlinks but didn't know that dwarfs3 wouldn't work.

Btw @Kron4ek we were able to fix the issue of conty not being able to launch appimages

However the fix involves patching bubblewrap so I'm just letting you know just in case you are interested on fixing that as well.
