How do you recommend structuring the workshop material if it gets translated to other languages? #4

We've decided to translate the workshop material to Hungarian language. I have some questions regarding this:

  • Do you have any recommendations how a translation should be done?
  • If yes can you tell us how should we structure the files in the repository so we can contribute our translation to the original repository?

Would be interested to translate the course material to French. So, I would be interested too to have JetBrains thought on how to organize translation efforts.

Thanks

Seems like this material is not getting love nowadays.

Sorry, somehow missed the first comment. Which parts of the repository you'd like to translate?

  • Is it ReadMe.md only? I think you can add ReadMeFrench.md (or ReadMeHungarian.md), and we'll put the references. But than you agree to be responsible for the future updates if needed :)
  • Or the presentations? I'm not sure that translating the presentations is really needed because they contain little text, and supporting several versions would be hard.
  • The same with code samples: I don't think it makes sense to translate the function name or so.

The help that will be really appreciated (if you're ready to translate something :)) is to translate the video subtitles for the Coursera course that we're going to release soon and which is mostly based on the materials in this repository. Please contact me at Kotlin slack if you're interested!

I didn't want to translate the slides / code, just the actual text parts. I've already asked for access ot the Kotlin Slack but I did not get a response yet. Am I doing it wrong?
