I looked around the 3d-models, and some of the BGA have a height I never saw on real components:

Example: BGA-121_12.0x12.0mm_Layout11x11_P1.0mm

Perhaps the BGA YAML script input file should capture these two nominal (or max, if nominal isn't given) dimensions:

From the board to the package bottom.
From the board to the package top.

We've done this with QFNs, for example, to share YAML files between footprint and 3D generation tools.
