Julia 1.0.3 segfault when using precompile statements with Gadfly.jl #31801

I don't have 1.0.3 installed on my system, but I'll try to install it and investigate further. When attempting to use SnoopCompile to force more aggressive precompilation of Gadfly, I noticed a segfault on CI when testing against Julia 1.0.3. The logs from CI on the run are here: https://travis-ci.org/GiovineItalia/Gadfly.jl/jobs/523267781

By contrast, CI passes without issue on 0.7 and on 1.1.
