What happened?

When I flash the Ubuntu image with the 6.11 kernel for the Orange Pi 5 (via microSD), I get a blank screen whether using the USB-C or HDMI ports to connect to a monitor. The 6.1 kernel works fine.

Kernel version

6.11.0-1006

SBC model

Orange Pi 5

What operating system are you seeing this problem on?

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble Nombat)

Relevant logs

Could not access the logs without the display working.

Full HDMI support has not been merged into the 6.11 Linux kernel, so expect it not to work. If it does work, it will have limited support and functionality.
