What happened?

I am waiting to get my Orange Pi 5 Pro and it will have the SPI flash mod installed.

I do not have a micro sd card but I am wondering if I can boot directly to e.g. Armbian OS using a USB drive?

This ISO is not a Bug!!!!
It is for SD installation only!!!!!
So remove Bug label please
But I also support this.
Please make ISO which is booting from UEFI bootloader
https://github.com/edk2-porting/edk2-rk3588/releases
as windows one.
Known workaround.

  1. Clone SD installation to USB device.
  2. Change UUID of USB device by gparted.
  3. Edit SD /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf.
  4. Replace SD UUID by USB UUID.
