I found this recently. Tbh it's a pretty interesting program and I do enjoy using it when I'm busy.
However, I doubt if the default setting is suitable for lower ranks. I have been using it in the silver room for a few days (around 6 hours a day), the ranking score is slightly declining. I did watch some replays, the bot is literally focusing on defense sometimes sacrificing its own chance of winning. The performance isn't working so well though, with a lot of times the opponent's winning with ''kokushi musou'', ''daisangen'', and ''suuankou'' , the bot lost immediately.
I wonder if It should be focusing on more aggressive moves rather than thinking all about defense.

It is.

I rode it all the way to expert with no problem, but you WILL have bad games, even loss streaks. It's the nature of Mahjong, a bot won't change that. There are times where it could probably be more aggressive and succeed in playing lower point hands, but it's defensive play will get you more points in the long run by securing 1st or 2nd instead of purely playing for points and avoiding playing into other peoples hands. I think that's the intention, it doesn't just play to complete any/small hands, it plays to score smart and minimize losses.

Can you please tell me your bot parameters? Preferably with a screenshot. And to what rank did you manage to reach?
