It appears that this library is no longer maintained and now largely replaced by TabLayout. Would it be appropriate to update the readme and repo description something to the effect of:

DEPRECATED

This repo is no longer maintained and no longer accepting pull requests. Please use [TabLayout](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/support/design/widget/TabLayout.html).

Thank you @hackware1993! MagicIndicator looks pretty neat! I'll check it out next time I'm working with tabs.

TabLayout works for the case of text tabs, but not for the case of page indicator dots. And even if it was the best library in the world, my bosses would not in good conscience let me include a library in my app that says @hackware1993.

Hm, that's too bad about the indicator dots. TabLayout does give nice indicator animations but they're bar shaped and I don't know that there's much support for changing them to arbitrary Drawables.
