Corrupted .iso after compression :/ #349
Comments
Are you sure it's compressed and its not just the fact that the Image Mounter in Windows can't handle compressed files? What happens if you try to extract the contents of the iso using something like 7-zip? |

I would check to make sure that your drive and filesystem is in a sane state. To be clear, CompactGUI doesn't actually do the compression itself, it just calls into the functions built into Windows. So if the file came out corrupted, something is fishy likely deeper down the line |

Can someone help :c? |
Is it possible that during the compression, something could break at the same time corrupt the iso? |
Run CrystalDiskInfo to check for disk errors, and memtest86 to check for memory errors. Either one of these could cause it. It could also be caused by software, but rule out the hardware. |
Hello!
After compressing one of the folders where the .iso file was, the size was reduced to 3GB, but after mounting, I get the error "The file could not be installed". There was a problem installing the file. I tried all the solutions from here but nothing helped. Is there any way to uncompress? I've also tried using older versions of the program as well as cmd and the program cannot unpack this .iso :/
I will add that I used compression on a portable drive with the NTFS file system as well as the D drive.
