(Provide link to index.md of the issue, if available. To be filled in after issue is created - you need the issue number!)

Use case

You would like to see the content resource of a Canvas placed onto its corresponding geospatial location on a world map, such as one provided by OpenStreetMap. The content should appear over the intended area replacing the projection of Earth as if the content were part of the map itself.

Implementation Note

The Georeference Extension (link will be available soon) outlines the process of georeferencing and what encoding to apply. By forming a Georeference Annotation for the Canvas, you can connect the pixel coordinates from the resource to the geospatial coordinates of a map. Clients that support this kind of Annotation, such as Allmaps, can display the content warped into a bounded geometric shape.
