Hi there. I'm evaluating side as a replacement for the official Reddit app specifically for it's offline/caching function so I can read it on the tube.
However, despite having setup autocaching and comments caching (depth 2), slide does not reliably download a cache in the background.
It seems to cache a few posts from either one subredit or the front-page, but no comments at all. And most selected subredits cache is days old despite being configured to cache at 5pm everyday even without WiFi.
Additionally, I have a persistent and non -dismissable notifications saying that it's in the process of caching even though it indicates this was 1hr or 14d ago!
