"Last message" displayed on left panel different than the actual last message

On attached message from Rose, The message that you see on the left panel for the "General" conversation is not the same as the last message in General (also from Rose)

Pretty sure it's a reply further up in that same thread, but that reply is indeed the last message chronologically, just not geometrically.
