Disappearing Messages #304
Comments
I had it get stuck on a message sent from a user to the PC / Microsoft Edge. It seems to happen on messages that are not viewed immediately. Like this one had sat there for an hour or more unviewed, then I was able to comment on the message itself and make more messages to the user group, finally manually refreshing reset the screen and deleted the message. |

Sending messages between users on PC using Chrome, on a Mac PC using Chrome, and IOS using Safari.
User sent disappearing messages to 3 other users in a group tagged chat, 4 users in the communication.
The message disappeared from the sender and other users, the user WS in this instance might have had a few sessions open as I was juggling 4 users across various devices.
I have the time stamps on the screen shots at first noted time that (2) messages had not deleted from user WS at 11:45:09, then at 11:45:17 I show both messages still there with a larger screen shot, then I have user WS send a disappearing message, and then add comments to the "disappearing comments" that had not gone away, and also up voted on them. Finally the only way I got them to disappear for user WS was by manually refreshing the page.
I tried various times to reproduce this and could not, the only thing I could figure was this might have been caused by my having multiple windows for various users open on my system, and potentially several for the same user open on the same system. I am attaching the screenshots with timing to show user Sasquatch had sent the messages and his had disappeared, the time is also shown in the message that 4 minutes, then 8 minutes had passed on user WS screen showing that it had still not disappeared.
