After the KDE mega release :

With X11 and KDE there is a bug concerning gamma managing. See [BUG] dark breeze theme switches to a red theme when displaying the lock screen #301
With Wayland and KDE, gamma and brightness managing are broken. See [BUG] KDE+wayland => no more gamma and screen management #300
the future of KDE is Wayland.
The dev has no time to fix these problems.

I fear this is the end. That is why I ask for KDE team to add in "night color" two features :
Using the webcam

adapt the gamma to the ambient light
adapt the brightness to the ambient light

The answer is rather encouraging, but not in the near future.
