The use of time-sync messages does not work in large setups. An additional version of the HSI should be provided that reads the time since epoch, converts it into DTS timeticks, and issues triggers at the right rate in this way.

Do you have an idea of what the issue is? Are the timestamps out of sync between different RO hosts? Are you seeing a certain fraction of empty fragments?
