Hi,

I noticed that when I have CP running, I cannot access FCPX's import window, as it would just close right after clicking it open. Restarting FCPX didn't solve the issue, but if I quit CP, the issue would be instantly fixed, even without restarting FCPX.

I'm on:

  • FCPX 10.6.8
  • macOS 13.5 (22G74)

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Please check to see if you have Ignore Inserted Camera Cards ticked in the Final Cut Pro preferences:

I'm guessing you have this ticked, and you have a camera card mounted?

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I found that the behavior is a bit unpredictable, but I think it is related to that setting and whether or not an SD card is inserted.

  • When I first encountered the bug, I had the "Ignore Inserted Camera Cards" checked but no SD card mounted.
  • If I have the setting checked, and then I insert the SD card, I would get the bug if I try importing anything. If I eject the SD card, the bug would persist (this is with the setting still checked).
  • If I have the setting unchecked, and then I insert the SD card, I would not get the bug.

Not sure if this is the expected behavior?
