Slow down during color control while using tangent ripple #3172
Comments
Are there any errors in the Debug Console when it's slow? Click the CommandPost Dock Icon to open the Debug Console. |
It's not an error. It's just a slow response. I don't know what the problem is. Can you help me? |
Sorry for the delayed reply - I've been flat out on some other projects. I'll try hook up a Tangent panel tomorrow and see if I can reproduce. |
Thank you so much. Thank you for always writing so well and I respect your hard work. |
Do you have any other applications running that might interfere such as BetterTouchTool, Keyboard Maestro, etc? |
I use "hook shat" "Logi options" "yoink" It's the same result if I try to close the using apps I don't think it's a conflict with other apps because it's not always slow but intermittently slow. |
I have no idea what "hook shat" is? I don't think Yoink for Mac would cause any conflicts. It's possible Logi Options could have some conflicts - although I also have it installed on my MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021), as I use a Logitech Craft keyboard. Can you try using CommandPost without these apps running for a day and see if it has any impact? |
I found that it slows down only when using an external SSD. Can't you do it because of the transmission speed or can you fix it? It's really a little slow, so I think it's going to be modified. |
That's really weird. It sounds like it might be a Tangent issues, rather than something specific in CommandPost? Are you using a USB hub or anything like that? I'll reach out to Tangent and see if they have any ideas. |
I use t5 SSD using Thunderbolt 4 cable in my laptop, but I don't use hubs. We found that it slows down only when using external SSDs. I appreciate your help for a single user. |
Apologies again for the delayed reply. I can't think of any reason why what hard drive you're editing off would have any impact. Tangent writes:
When it's slow, does pressing the Restart option in the CommandPost menubar fix the issue, or is it still slow after restarting CommandPost? When it's slow, are there any more errors in the Debug Console? If it's filled with lots of errors does pressing the Clear Log button have any impact? |
I made a video of my condition.
https://youtu.be/0vmnB3O7Rmw
The monitor recording is 24p, so it's worse than it looks on the screen.
Thank you.

Apologies again for the delayed reply. I can't think of any reason why what hard drive you're editing off would have any impact.
Tangent writes:
The user’s finding that the problem only seems to occur when using an external SSD would appear to shift the blame from our panel to something that FCP is doing when the media is on external SSD.
I also wonder what the user means by “slow down”. i.e. is there sometimes a lag when a control is moved before FCP responds? Or does it start changing immediately but then run on? Or does the amount of physical movement on the ripple balls sometimes cause large changes and sometimes small? Tricky to guess exactly what “slow down” means!
When it's slow, does pressing the Restart option in the CommandPost menubar fix the issue, or is it still slow after restarting CommandPost? When it's slow, are there any more errors in the Debug Console? If it's filled with lots of errors does pressing the Clear Log button have any impact?

Thanks for sending the extra information and the video. However we cannot work out why FCP is behaving this way only when the source material is coming from the external SSD. The location of the media should have no impact on the performance of the panel. We have never received any other reports of this problem. So I am very sorry but we are unable to solve this issue for you. |
I'm using MacBook Pro m1 max , fcpx ,tangent ripple.
If you touch the color wheel or adjust the color temperature,
There are cases where you react quickly and sometimes you react slowly.
Is there a way to react quickly?
