CA: urlwatch isn't reading #52
Comments
The problem, as I have noted at COVID19Tracking/issues#181, is that the state data blurb says that the best sources for CA is not there, but here: https://public.tableau.com/views/COVID-19PublicDashboard/Covid-19Public?:embed=y&:display_count=no&:showVizHome=no |
I happened to be in the issues repo and noticed this, but the best way to get in touch with the urlwatch team is in #coding-urlwatch or to file a bug in COVID19Tracking/covid-tracking. Currently, urlwatch is monitoring CA's press release page for new press releases. They post those daily, though usually hours after the numbers are announced in press conferences. CA has always been a bit of a difficult state for us, and I think we get a lot of our numbers from the reporting team when they're read off in daily press conferences along with the daily press release when it's emailed to the press list (which happens quite some time before it's posted online I think). So the question is what URL is most useful for urlwatch to monitor? We can switch it to monitor changes on the Tableau dashboard or the CSV data CHHS puts out or I'm not even sure what makes the most sense. @careeningspace, do you have a preference here? |
Let me circle back. CA has improved the accuracy of their dashboard |
Thanks, @zachlipton, sorry for putting it in the wrong repo. To be honest urlwatch did wind up reading the page the issue was about shortly after I filed the issue anyway, but yes, perhaps a larger issue is whether to use the Tableau dashboard, which is definitely what we've started using as the most trusted data source anyway. |
urlwatch has had trouble reading the CA site at https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Immunization/ncov2019.aspx for a few days now. Can it be fixed?
