Hex Color Codes are not converted correctly

Hello, I have noticed the following bug with hex color codes:

Use a hex code at the front of a chat message
Then type a word after that hex code
Then type [item] or or whatever
The word you typed will come out as the incorrect color (something weird is going on, for example, a green color I used becomes black, another random blue-ish color I tried became yellow)
I think it's defaulting to default Minecraft color codes, but I'm not sure.
