"Open files in running instance" not working properly

When the option "Open files in running instance" and "Avoid a second instance in any case" are enabled DocEar does not behave as it should after restarting the operational system (windows 7 in my case). The work-around is to disable the options (since the options are still enabled even if it does not work after starting DocEar), restart DocEar, then enable the two options and restart DocEar. However, this works only occasionally.

Any hints on how to fix this are appreciated (I'm willing to work on a fix once I know where to start).

BTW: The issue was submit back in 2013 to the old bug tracker, but for some reason this issue has not been transferred to the new bug tracker at github?
