Interested in an Obsidian integration

I'm doing the initial stages of research to create an integration between this tool and Obsidian. There already exists integrations for importing custom GIS map data so this one would be for integrating map notes with Obsidian markdown notes. Right now all map notes are stored in a json object, which means they can be bulk imported into Obsidian with existing integrations. However this is a one way process, and the markdown files would need to be reduced back into json and reuploaded manually. Hopefully an integration could automate this step of modifying map notes from outside the browser.

Has anyone else looked into a feature like this before?

I don't know how to code an Obsidian integration but i encourage you to try and do the integration.
I think this is going to help a lot of users.

I’ve put together a process to import large chunks of data from an FMG JSON file into Obsidian. It’s working well. I can import States, Provinces, Burgs, Cultures, and Religions. I’ve got a lot of cross linking and have built a library of several Helpers to pull in things like the URLs to Watabou’s City & Village gen among other things.

@sofronaspe did you ever pursue your import goal? Would be curious to see what you may have created if you did anything.

Do you have insights on that by chance?

Would love to use Obsidian as my player-faced wiki, but the FMG is my goto-tool to handle player-notes and stuff. If I could combine these, that would be awesome.

What I'm working on is mostly importing from the FMG JSON to discrete notes. It wouldn't be too hard to push those to a website (minus the things that can't be published - I'm not sure what those are specifically because I don't focus on turning Obsidian notes into web-facing, but I suspect it's things like Leaflet, DataView, and Custom Frames).

My process focuses heavily on getting the data from the JSON into Frontmatter, and then using DataView inline to pull those items down in to the note itself. It would be possible to recode the import so that that data was hard-coded into the body of the note and then could be hosted on a webserver.

Sounds quite promising and I think one could extend that to their liking. :)
