What happened?

I had this module with ESP8266 working for 3 years with WLED 0.12 flawlessly, I decide to upgrade it to 0.15 with latest stable firmware and since then it works perfectly until I turn it off (from the app, web page or home assistant) as it become suddenly not_available and completely frozen; the only way to recover is a power cycle; any suggestion to fix or shoudl I revert to old firmware?

To Reproduce Bug

turn off the WLED strip from the web/app and wait 3 seconds then ESP8266 freezes (it even disappers from the wifi connected device in my router after a while)

Expected Behavior

not to freeze!

Install Method

Binary from WLED.me

What version of WLED?

WLED_0.15.0_ESP8266.bin

Which microcontroller/board are you seeing the problem on?

ESP8266

Relevant log/trace output

no logs available as the board freezes immediately after strip is turned off

Anything else?

I try to disconnect the strip, make it shorter, use another strip but behaviour does not change, as said this setup had worked for more than 3 years without issues on firmware 0.12.0

try a clean install: backup settings and presets, erase flash, re-install 0.15
